Services

Nathan ProjectTM

Independent Director / Independent Advisor

Confidential services for senior executives seeking an independent, clear, unequivocal, balanced and unbiased opinion based on facts provided during an interview, discussions or through document review, without regard to political issues or conflicts of interest. It is also referred to as a "sanity check" by senior managers seeking input from an independent third party.

Some examples are:

Foreign Electronics Manufacturer: Retained as an advisor to corporate senior management regarding risks involved in a $300 million investment they were making in Southeast Asia. Following my review and comments, it was decided that they should withdraw from that investment pending forthcoming political changes that were going to take place in that country which at this time would adversely affect that investment.

Large Foreign Insurance Company: Retained to sit with senior executives and Board members on advice of their Board counsel to address risk-related issues regarding the divestiture of certain lines and companies handling those insurance lines. It was decided that, based on our discussion, the divestiture should be placed on hold for at least 90 days until a risk mitigation program could be designed and implemented.

Large National Insurance Company: Retained by senior executives on advice of counsel to discuss the risks involved in the terminations of several senior executives and the cessation of certain of their operations in the United States. It was decided to forestall any activity until a strong risk control program could be developed and implemented.

Multinational Transportation Company: Retained by the CEO and senior counsel to discuss certain incidents that had occurred which caused them concern. Subsequent meetings and discussions indicated that they had been targeted by a competitor. This led to a risk analysis being conducted with subsequent changes in their business process.

National Healthcare Company: The CEO had become aware that something had untoward had occurred in his corporate headquarters over the weekend, but that there was no indication that anything was missing. During a meeting and subsequent discussion with operations executives it was discovered that information had been copied or downloaded, but the reason could never be determined. It was found, however, that a former East German intelligence specialist had gained entry and accessed sensitive information. A program to deal with risk was developed and implemented.
